Starleen,
Here is the recipe...

Gingerbread House Gingerbread

5 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 teaspoons powdered ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup solid white vegetable shortening (like Crisco)
1 cup unsulphered molasses

Melt shortening in saucepan. Add sugar and molasses and mix well. Make sure the sugar is fully dissolved. Sift all the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Gradulally stir in 4 cups of the dry ingredients into the melted shortening mixture. Mix thoroughly. Then, put this dough on your counter or pastry board. Mix in the remaining 1 cup of dry ingredients by hand. After it is thoroughly mixed, roll 1/4 inch thick right on the cookie sheets and cut out house parts. Remove excess dough and bake right on the cookie sheets.

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 13-15 minutes or until lightly brown. Let stand on cookie sheets until completely cool.
