Life in the fast lane

Some days i am so tired. I don't remember if i told you we are helping our son Josh and lisa renivate tier rental house. what a night mare. but we are on the up hill climb. we painted this week. next week tile. but today was a slow day and brandi and i went shopping. we went to an eastate sale and had a great time. we really enjoyed being togather. it felt good. i think she has been needing this for awhile now. Jeff and i are taking a geneology class we are loveing it. other than that just trying to keep up. i'm not ready for christmas but that is life. i hope to get Danyels stuff sent this week i know i'm on the slow boat. i have a friend that had all of her shoping done by october so she could decoragte in nov. and bake with her grandkids in december and not feel rushed. i think next year i best replan. well a great day to all love starleen

wow its been awhile

Time sure flyes i'm not ready for Christmas and it's almost Thanksgiving crazy. We have been helping our son and daughter in law on their rental house. the people that lived there for 10 years didn't tell anyone the pipers were leaking in the bathroom and kitchen so you can emagen yep the worst. we had to take out the floors to the floor joist what a mess. Then on top of it all Josh lost his job. not much else is new goota go to church. Oh last sunday we had ElderTom L Perry come to our stake and we sat in the very front row and the after words he invited people to come shake his hand. It was great.

Thinking about ways to save money

As we try to get out of debt i try to think of ways to save money. not eating out somuch that can save us alot. make a list when i go to the store and stick to it. not taking kids with me when i go. i think for christmas i will try to make homemade thigs this year. not sure what i'm doing for an ordnament yet i found some good ideas. as for my children they all need money more than anything else so i need to come up with fun ideas for that. when money is tight chrstmas can be stressfull. i usualy get stuff throught the year but this year i have procastinated exseped Danyel. if anyone has any good ideas i'm open to them. well i gotta clean house tomarrow is Jeff's day off and i like the house to be clean so we can do things he wants to. ya'll have a great day

Just working on quilts

Our ward needed 7 quilts for the DI chrstmas drive so i've been sewing tops for them and other sisters can tie them. i work on them in the morning when it's to cold to go out side and work or raining and we have had alot of that. Yesturday Levi i and Jen were out cleaning the trees so i can spray them and then they had to go, dad called to tell me rain was on the way. so megan and i went out picked up all the tools and came in i walked up the stairs and heard the rain pelting down. i would have been soaked in sec. i've been trying to get the house cleaned for the holidays. don't know what i'm doing for the kids but i'm exsicted to decorate. All my kids need money more than anything. well that will cut my shopping down. haha.

the fle season

well it's that time of year when the weather changes and we turn the heat on or build a fire and it never fails i get sick. you know the ichy eyes and stuffy nose, Danyel says it's anergys to dust, well today i was moving some things in my sewing room and there was alot of dust. so Danyel was right within a few min i was sneezing and my eyes were watering. I guess thats it i don't have to work any more. hahaha I've been making quilts for the DI christmas night and working in the yard. i do take time to play games with the family. well i best get back to work have a great day.

How could i be a better mother

Life has it's up's and downs. I'm always looking to be a better mother. I want to be a mother that my children will love and will want to talk to and spend time with me. I have alot of skills but being a good mother i lak those skill. So i will keep trying. Not much is new here the sun was out today but there is a bitter cold wind blowing. I still have alot to do outside i hope to get some of it done tomarrow. We had a baby shower for Xander thanks to danyel helping us with the games. there were a few sisters that came, also her mom grandma and a friend. they said the enjoyed it. thats all thats new. have a good day.

House cleaning day

it's a rainy day so i decided to in depth clean the house. wow there was alot of dust. But it feels good to get it done. So now i feel like i can decorate for the holidays. so i put out my fall decorations. I wish the out side work was done. other than that not much is going on Brandi is in drivers ED and we get to hold the grandbaby when they come over. fun stuff have a great day

Fall is here

The leaves on the trees are changing, i love each new season. I get to put out my decorations it makes me feel good. Tuseday we picked Megan up at the airport it is great to have her home. She looks good and is happy to be here. Not much else is new you know the same old work and trying to get things done. Iv'e had a few interuptions we have a house in Oregon that we rent out and the guy hasn't payed us for 2 months so we sent hime a 72hour pay or move notice. so he went to see if he could get some help to pay rent so we have had to put togather a contract so they will help him. trying to do that, fight with my new progam on my computor and try to beet the rain, plus my husband is driving me nut the last few days. nit picking and wanting to make sure things are done his way is about to drive me nuts. but i just keep plugging along oh and Brandi is in drivers ED so we are getting to have patiants on top of all this. i think i'm doing great over all. I still have my hair. HAHAHA you all have a great day and we will to. love ya all

What we have all been waiting for

Here are the pics of our new grandson. Xander Wesley Hawkins, what do you think do they love him? Levi is a great father hes has been taking so good care of Jen and the baby. it just amzes me. Jen is a very good mommy she cudles him and talkes to him. Xander will truly now love. Jen had to have a C section done the baby was turned wrong and she wasn't dialating. so he was born at 8:47 Sept 13, 2009 he was 7lbs 13oz and 19 and a half inches long. and as you can see he has dark hair. He loves to cuddle

Our roof

Oh to all who cares to knoe we bib get our roof done just in time for the next rain storm. My knees hurt and my back and we lets just say all of me. i'm so glad it is bone am i sorry we did it our selves? It cost $7000. to have a contractor do it and we paid $2000. for suplies so i think i'm not sorry i was slow but it saved us a bunch of money and it was done the way we wanted it to be done.

Fall is upon us

It is staring to be fall, across the way from our house is a beautful tree that startes to tune the most wonderful fall colors. It is time to get the garden cleand and ready to put to bed for the winter. trime the trees back and weed the flower beds one last time for the year. trime the strawberries and put out bug killer so they dont feed on the roots of my plants. I have till the end of sept to get it all done because then it it time to start on Christmas stuff and in side thing that i want to do. Did i get my todo list done outside not even clost this year. we had some unexpected things come up the roof and a hot tub. so the things that didnt get done will go on next summers list. Megan will be home the 22nd of sept i hope and pray she can help my get things done. Levi's baby still isnt here yet. Brandi is doing good in school. other than that not much is new here on the home frone i did take some time and read a book when it was rainy and cold. that was a good rest. well hapy days to you all.

we had a good trip we got the tar paper on the roof so we could go and we are sure glad we did because while we were gone it rain alot. We got news that PJ got into med school we are so excited for him.

life has been busy

this is a quilt that Megan started for levi and jen and mom finished it for them.

thursday Levi, Jen, Dad and I started on one of the big dredded projects the roof. thursday we got the east half shigals off. then friday we pulled nails and stales while Jeff put screws in to hold the wood down. the nails that hold the wood are rusted and the boards are coming up. we have only had to replace one board so far. the west side we are shye there are alot the will need changed out. we are hoping for the best. Im not in the pics sorry and yes that is Jen up there helping she is dew Sep 2nd. then whil i was taking pics i thought i would get one of the garden for you all. happy days love you all hope you all are doing very well. tomarrow is sunday i get a day of rest and pray that it dosen't rain. then Levi i and jen dug a ditch for jeff to put a water line between the house and garage. that was fun it was cool but very dusty. after the water pipe is in we get to fill it back in.
